A Poignant Message for 2015

Wild horses in Nevada
While away from MuRefuge the month of December, immersing ourselves in Native Peoples culture and their gorgeous Southwest landscape, both Dwight and I continued our reading of Robin Wall Kimmerer's Braiding Sweetgrass. In her chapter "Allegiance to Graditude" she shares the Thanksgiving Address. My plan was to create a rendition here on BE-ing Rooted which was promptly dismissed when I came across this stunning presentation on Dance For All People. To usher in 2015 please join me in honoring and expressing thanksgiving to ALL by reading the Haudenosaunee Thanksgiving Address.

Sunrise in Santa Fe, New Mexico
A pair of coyotes just across the street from the casita where we stayed in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
A few days later we saw the same pair on our morning walk. Shasta and the male
spent some while checking each other out, from a distance of course.
Shasta wanted to be "up close and personal."
